Jamme is operated by Voiaxis Ltd, United Kingdom (“Jamme”, “we”). We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Jamme app and jamme.app. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have. It applies from 2026 and replaces all earlier versions.
Account data: name, username, phone number, date of birth (for age assurance) and optional profile details (city, profession, voice intro). Content you create: jams, statuses, messages, voice notes, calls metadata (never call audio). Usage & device data: app version, device type, crash logs, and the interactions needed to run features you use. Payment data is handled by the App Store / Play Store — we never see your card details.
To provide the service you signed up for (contract); to keep the community safe, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms (legitimate interests); to meet child-safety, tax and legal obligations (legal obligation); and for anything optional — like location discovery, contact sync or marketing pushes — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings → Permissions.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not read your private messages. We do not build shadow profiles of people who are not on Jamme. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we never use your content to train third-party AI models.
Location features (Bite, Passing By, the Live Map) are opt-in and approximate by design — we compute distance bands (“~2 km”), never store precise coordinates against your profile, and you can hide yourself from discovery at any time while continuing to browse.
Adverts are relevance-matched inside Jamme using broad, non-sensitive signals (age band, language, coarse region, declared interests) so the right advert reaches the right human — a 19-year-old never sees a nappy advert. Advertisers receive aggregate performance figures only, never your identity, contacts or content. Users are rewarded in Jamme Coins for attention they choose to give; that choice is logged for reward integrity, nothing more.
Users aged 15–17 get Teen Mode automatically: adult discovery surfaces are removed, profiles are protected by default, coin top-ups are disabled and their data is never used for advert matching. We do not knowingly serve users under 15; such accounts are deleted on discovery. See our CSAE Standards for reporting.
We share data only with processors who run infrastructure for us under contract (hosting, push delivery, SMS verification), with app stores for purchases, and with authorities where the law requires it. Every processor is bound by data-processing agreements; transfers outside the UK/EEA use approved safeguards (adequacy or SCCs).
Account data is kept while your account is active. Statuses expire after 24 hours. “Recently deleted” content is purged after 30 days. Deleted accounts leave live systems within 30 days and rotate out of backups on our standard cycle (max 90 days). Safety records (bans, CSAE reports) are retained as required by law.
Under UK GDPR / GDPR you can access, correct, export (portability), delete or restrict your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests — all from Settings → My Activity, or by emailing us. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Access is role-restricted and logged. Chat can additionally be locked on-device with Face ID / passcode. We notify affected users and regulators of any qualifying breach within statutory deadlines.
Privacy claims lie solely against Voiaxis Ltd as data controller — not personally against its founder, directors, employees, investors or agents. We are not responsible for what other users do with information you voluntarily share with them, or for third-party services you reach through links; to the maximum extent permitted by law, and without limiting your statutory data-protection rights (including your right to complain to the ICO), you agree to hold Voiaxis Ltd and its people harmless from claims arising from your own disclosures or your breach of this policy.
